Back in May I met with Emma & David at their wedding venue, The Holy Cross Church in Sarratt, Hertfordshire. At the beginning of their photoshoot they explained how "unphotogenic" they are however, during their pre wedding shoot it was clear to see that they are a very, very photogenic couple!
It was so exciting to listen to all of their final arrangements for their wedding and I'm so pleased I have the pleasure of photographing their special day in June. I will be sharing their wedding day with you in a few weeks!
Back in March I met with Sarah and Steven for their pre wedding photoshoot in Ashridge, Hertfordshire. It seemed like the perfect place to practice some posing, feel more confident in front of the camera and of course get some lovely photos for their family home! Sarah and Steven bought along their daughter, Amelie -she was so sweet the whole way through the session and loved the camera!
Over a year ago Steven and Sarah booked me as their wedding photographer, I loved hearing their plans to have an outside wedding in Ashridge woods, followed by afternoon tea reception at Albury Memorial Hall. I'm so pleased you chose me to capture your beautiful wedding day!
Keep an eye out for their wedding photos in May, here are a few favourites from their pre wedding photoshoot.

Back in September I met up with Lisa and Matt at the VERY VERY windy and cold Dunstable Downs for their pre wedding photoshoot! It was great to meet with Lisa and Matt before the wedding and talk about their plans coming together and the finishing touches they needed to add for their special autumnal wedding day at Fanhams Hall, Hertfordshire in November!
During the session we tried out different poses to see what was most comfortable and natural for them both, so on their wedding day we could get the perfect shots of them. Lisa and Matt were naturals and nailed every pose we tried!!
In November I photographed their wedding, see their wedding here!
Back at the beginning of last year Lisa and Matt booked me to be their wedding photographer for the Autumn November wedding! I first met with Lisa and Matt in September for their engagement shoot (Click here to see their pre wedding photoshoot!). From the start they were naturals, Making my job very easy indeed!
Soon enough November came around for Lisa & Matt's gorgeous autumnal wedding at Fanhams Hall, Hertfordshire. From start to finish their day was relaxed, perfectly planned and great fun! Lisa looked beautiful in her lace Wed2Be wedding dress, along with her bridesmaids dressed in deep purple floor length dresses.
Throughout their ceremony their bridesmaids, parents and siblings all made a personal speech to the bride and groom - I don't think there was a dry eye in the room!
During the drinks reception I was able to have take the new bride and groom away and get some shots of them together, were wandered round the stunning grounds of Fanhams Hall.
Before I knew it the day was coming to an end, I had such a lovely time photographing Lisa and Matt's wedding, i'm so pleased they asked me to be their photographer! Thank you!
It's 2017!!! Where on earth did 2016 go?
For me 2016 has been one of my favourite years, I've experienced and explored so many new places, met lots of new wonderful people and my photography career is booming! Feeling very lucky indeed!!
From January last year my work has been pretty non stop. I've had the chance to see new countries and enjoy some amazing life experiences. In January-February last year I worked in Dubai and Qatar, photographing school portraits in English International schools, In March I then moved onto Singapore to continue photographing more schools. Later on in the year I also had the chance to work in Brussels and again back to Qatar and Singapore (I can't complain!) The best perk of my job is being able to see these amazing places and having the chance to experience them while working alongside my lovely work friends. I've made so many new friends and explored so many things I never thought I'd experience. Throughout the year I've had the pleasure of photographing lots of gorgeous weddings, family's and babys. I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and hope i'll see you again in 2017! Thank you for letting me be part of your special occasions!
2017 already looks like it has lots in store for me! I've got lots of weddings booked in, family photoshoots and also some more international work lined up! Can't wait to meet you all and I wish you all good luck for 2017!
Back in August I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Rachel & Justin on their wedding day. Oh what a beautiful day!! From start to finish there were laughs, tonnes of smiles and lots precious moments.
I started of the day with Rachel, her mum and Bridesmaids. Katy Pheiffer was their make up artist and oh my, she did such a lovely job! The girls make up looked absolutely beautiful. Whilst I was relaxing and enjoying my morning with the girls, Danny Heydon my second photographer was with the boys capturing their pre wedding wedding drinks at Justins local pub, The Royal Oak in Corsley.
Soon enough it was time to leave for the ceremony. Rachel and Justin chose St Margarets Church in Corsley, a place close to their hearts. Here they had their 3 beautiful children christened, making it just that little bit more special! Inside the church were some lovely large glass stained windows, these allowed the bright sunshine from outside to beam through, giving me the best lighting to capture their ceremony. The whole ceremony was full of smiles, laughter and happy memories with readings from Rachel's mum, their daughter, Brooke and Rachel's maid of honour, Lesley.
After throwing bundles of confetti (that the bride herself had creatively made) over the newly married couple we made our way to Limpley Stoke Hotel in Bath, to be welcomed with Champagne and canapes!
During the drinks reception we managed to sneak out for a few portraits before sunset, with gorgeous surroundings we had no problem finding the perfect spot.
As evening approached, so did more guests for the party! Lots of fabulous dancing and music got the night flowing and before I knew it, it was 11pm.. the day flew by so quickly.
Thank you to Rachel and Justin for letting me photograph your special day, It was a pleasure to have been part of it all.

So over a month ago now I set off my travels working in Doha and then onto Singapore! All in the name of school photography..seems crazy I know, travelling all that way to photograph school portraits?! The schools in Singapore are very huge! The company I work for mostly photograph the international school which can have 2000+ kids!
Anyway..more about the exploring I get to do in my free time whilst i'm there. Singapore It's the most safest, cleanest and friendliest place I've ever been to. I had the chance to watch the light show outside Marina bay sands and in the gardens..my word, it is something else. I also visited:
Marina Bay Hotel
Gardens by the Bay
Macritchie Tree Top Walk
Clarke Quay -For a drink!
There's always something to do! Here are some photos from my time away:
I'm home! After 4 weeks of working in Qatar and Singapore i'm back and cold!!
Saturday 17th September I left to work in Qatar for 2 weeks with some work friends in the name of school photography, yep school photography!
During our spare time we tried squeezing as many activities and sight seeing as possible, from Dune Bashing in the desert, Camel riding, Brunch and a Night boat. Here are a couple of photos, look out for my Singapore photos soon!
It's not often me and Abbie both have the same day off to meet up, but after months of arranging/planning a day to meet we finally got together for a portrait day!
Abbie's been my friend for over 3 years now and up until last year we worked together and saw each other nearly every day. We both share a love for photography and both have our own photography businesses! We had the best times working in a little cafe in Bovingdon, Hertfordshire -I've lost count how many funny moments we've had together!
Here are a few photos from out shoot on Monday, I hope you like them!

The beginning of my career
So much happened over the past year, I started my new job with a photography company in a family portraiture studio, working in school photography in England & Qatar! I'm lucky enough to still say I absolutely adore and love getting up for work in the mornings!
I started my own photography business, Lily Lane Photography and since have met some lovely new little babies, models & gorgeous wedding couples! It's safe to say by the end of this year I was exhausted..
I never thought I'd finally make the break and begin my career in photography. I attended West Herts College back in 2011 (that sounds so long ago!!!) and from then I knew photography was for me. 2 years on I'm here, loving all of it!
I learned a lot from those two years in between college and now, that's to enjoy your life and don't settle for something you're not happy with. Go out and work your hardest to find a job you love. As they say "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
That's all from me today! I hope you enjoyed my first post..
